"13 Reasons Why" (TV show) is a drama series on Netflix that is adapted from the best-selling books by Jay Asher.

The series follows teenager Clay Jensen (Dylan Minnette) as he returns home from school to find a mysterious box with his name on it lying on his porch. Inside he discovers cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker (newcomer Katherine Langford) — his classmate and crush — who tragically committed suicide two weeks earlier. On tape, Hannah explains that there are thirteen reasons why she decided to end her life. Will Clay be one of them? If he listens, he'll find out how he made the list. Through Hannah and Clay's dual narratives, the series weaves an intricate and heart wrenching story of teenage life that will deeply affect viewers.

The cast includes Dylan Minnette as Clay Jensen; Katherine Langford as Hannah Baker; Kate Walsh as Hannah's mother, Mrs. Baker; Brian d'Arcy James as Hannah's father, Mr. Baker; Derek Luke as Hannah's guidance counselor, Mr. Porter; Brandon Flynn as Justin Foley; Justin Prentice as Bryce Walker; Alisha Boe as Jessica Davis; Christian Navarro as Tony Padilla; and Tommy Dorfman as Ryan.

"13 Reasons Why" is produced by Paramount Television. The series is directed by Oscar winner Tom McCarthy ("Spotlight"), written by Tony and Pulitzer Prize winner Brian Yorkey ("Next to Normal"), and executive produced by Selena Gomez, Joy Gorman and Brian Yorkey from Anonymous Content, and Kristel Laiblin.
