Adam Rayner stars in "Hawthorne" on TNT as Dr. Steve Shaw.

Adam Rayner has built a solid resume of film, television and theater credits in both the United States and the United Kingdom, thanks to his dual citizenship. He starred for three seasons on the hit BBC One series "Mistresses." He followed that up with roles in "Waking the Dead" and "Miranda," also for the BBC. More recently, he guest-starred in an episode of the J.J. Abrams series "Undercovers." He has also completed shooting the innovative online series "Dragon Age," directed by Peter Winther and starring Felicia Day.

Rayner attended Durham University and toured the U.K. with the University College theater company. After graduation, he trained for two years at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. Rayner has played several lead roles on the London stage, most notably for The Royal Shakespeare Company. He also took over from Matt Damon in the London production of "This is Our Youth."
