Adannaie Duru from "American Idol 2015" is one of the top 24 contestants in Season 14 of the FOX reality singing competition. She sang "You and I" by Lady Gaga for her audition in San Francisco, California. She is from Walnut, California.

Duru was previously a contestant on Season 3 of NBC's singing competition "The Voice." She sang 'The Edge of Glory" by Lady Gaga for her blind audition. Since Adam Levine was the only judge to turn his chair around, he became her mentor be default. She was eliminated during the Battle Rounds when she sang a duet of "Crazy in Love" by Beyonce with Michelle Brooks-Thompson who prevailed over her.

Duru is a singer, songwriter, dancer, choreographer and musician. Her parents were born in Nigeria and came to the United States for college. She has been singing and writing music for well over a decade. She plays two Varsity sports at her high school: track & field and volleyball. She competed in the Miss California Teen USA 2013 pageant and is an ambassador of Stylites, a non-profit organization that raises funds for victims of human sex trafficking in developing countries. She actually brought Stylites to her high school and is co-president of the club.

Duru's many musical influences include Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Ariana Grande, Abba, Justin Timberlake, Madonna, Kelly Clarkson and Janet Jackson, but her favorite musician and greatest musical inspiration of all time is Michael Jackson.

Here is an interview with Adanna:

When did you first start singing?

Since I could speak.

What role does music play in your life?

I put my music before everything else in my life, besides my faith and my family.
What makes you unique?

I am a young, fun, and energetic pop artist with an R&B voice. I collaborate with Anthony Meyer a lot.
What are your top three all-time favorite songs and why?

"Applause" by Lady Gaga because she is one of my biggest musical inspirations — this song is the perfect reincarnation of 80s pop and was created by an amazing pop diva.

"Human Nature" by Michael Jackson because I love smooth R&B, but I love pop even more. I love that this song is the perfect combination of the two genres.

"Rather Be" by Clean Bandit because it's a very universally loved pop tune that is dry inspired by both 70s/80s pop. I love oldies, but I am also a huge pop fan. Pop music that dominates yet still has good quality to it always touches me.
What is your strongest musical strength?

I am very energetic, fun, and charismatic on stage.
What is your greatest musical weakness?

I sometimes let my adrenaline get the best of me, which causes me to not perform at my best vocally at times.
Do you have a wish list of writers you'd like to write with? If so, who?

Ryan Tedder, Sia, The Dream, Neyo, Nasri Atweh, etc.
Who are your top three favorite and most influential artists? What is it about your favorite artists that you are drawn to?

Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, and Lady Gaga. Michael Jackson is an amazing entertainer. His music, his stage presence, his passion for making people smile has always touched my heart. He is my favorite entertainer of all time. Lady Gaga because her music is the closest example of what I want to make as a musician. I love that she implements elements of 70s, 80s, and 90s, pop culture in to her music. The production behind each song is phenomenal, and like Michael, she makes me want to dance — just like I want to make people want to dance. I love Janet Jackson because her image is amazing, I love how strong she is and how she embodies the perfect female entertainer.
If you had to pattern your career after another artist, who would it be and why?

Madonna, I love that she is seen as the most influential female pop artist, and she made music that was enjoyable for both boys and girls —  it made people want to dance. I also love that she was a great dancer.
Why do you think you should be the next "American Idol"?

Because I will be legendary.
