Adrienne Lyle is competing in equestrian at the 2012 London Summer Olympics for the USA.

Three years ago Adrienne Lyle was not even in the conversation for being a top American dressage rider. And the Olympics? Forget about it. But Lyle surged into 2010 aboard Wizard, a dark brown Oldenburg gelding, and instantly made her name known. At 27 years old, Lyle is still very young for a sport that frequently produces Olympians double her age.

In 2008, Lyle and Wizard clinched the Brentina Cup and National Intermediaire I Championship and the pair also won the freestyle of the 2009 Collecting Gaits/USEF Dressage Festival of Champions. Then in 2010 the pair finished in the top 15 at the CDI Hagen. In 2011 the pair had a stretch of three straight Grand Prix victories in Saugerties, N.Y. and Devon, Pa.

Lyle was born and raised on a small cattle ranch in Whidbey Island, Washington, and she was active with her local pony club, where she competed in eventing before switching only to dressage. She was a part of teams that medaled at both the 2002 North American Junior Dressage Team Championships and the 2004 North American Young Rider's Championships. In 2005 Lyle began working with Debbie McDonald, whose successful career was highlighted by a bronze medal in team dressage in 2004.
