"After Earth" (2013) is a science-fiction movie starring Jaden Smith and his father, Will Smith.

A crash landing leaves teenager Kitai Raige (Jaden Smith) and his legendary father Cypher (Will Smith) stranded on Earth, 1,000 years after cataclysmic events forced humanity's escape. With Cypher critically injured, Kitai must embark on a perilous journey to signal for help, facing uncharted terrain, evolved animal species that now rule the planet, and an unstoppable alien creature that escaped during the crash. Father and son must learn to work together and trust one another if they want any chance of returning home.

"After Earth" is a Columbia Pictures presentation of an Overbrook Entertainment and Blinding Edge Pictures production. The movie is directed by M. Night Shyamalan from a screenplay by Gary Whitta and M. Night Shyamalan, based upon a story by Will Smith. The producers are Caleeb Pinkett, Jada Pinkett Smith & Will Smith, James Lassiter, and M. Night Shyamalan. The executive producer is E. Bennett Walsh, while the co-producers are Ashwin Rajan and John Rusk. The crew includes director of photography Peter Suschitzky, ASC, production designer Tom Sanders, editor Steven Rosenblum, A.C.E., visual effects supervisor Jonathan Rothbart and costume designer Amy Westcott. Music is by James Newton Howard.
