Alana Ubach stars in "Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce" on Bravo as Jo, a blunt, brassy New Yorker and Abby's best friend from college who comes to LA to help Abby (Lisa Edelstein) through her divorce. Ubach also recently starred opposite Scott Baio in Nick at Nite's comedy "See Dad Run" as Amy Hobbs and played the recurring roles of Michelle in TNT's "Men of a Certain Age" and Yael Koontz in HBO's "Hung."

On the big screen, Ubach was recently seen in the comedy "Bad Teacher," opposite Cameron Diaz, and heard as the voice of Fresca in the animated feature film "Rango."

Alana Ubach has amassed a wealth of experience in the areas of film, television and theater. Alanna is a Latina actress, born and raised in Downey, California. She has been described as "an actress to keep your eye on" by the NY Times and "one to watch" by USA Today.

Recent film credits include co-starring with Ryan Reynolds in the Lionsgate comedy, "Waiting," as Naomi, the extraordinarily angry waitress. She also appeared in the smash hit "Meet the Fockers" as Isabel, Ben Stiller's first love. For this role she transformed herself into a buxom older housekeeper. In 2004, Alanna reprised her role as Serena, best friend and sorority sister to Reese Witherspoon in "Legally Blonde 2: Red, White, and Blonde."

Alanna has directed and written two short films, "Mi Amor Mi Dulce," which premiered, premiered at LA's Outfest, and has screened in film fests from Honolulu to Italy, and the recently completed puppet short "The Fart Show." She has also debuted her comedy troupe, Velcro, with a series of short film spoofs on Hollywood celebrities.

Ubach has made her mark in the cartoon world, and her voice can be heard regularly on the Disney, WB and Nickelodeon animated series, "Teamo Supremo," "Ozzie and Drix," "Brandy and Mr. Whiskers," and "Higgleytown Heroes." She also provides the lead voice of Manny Rivera in Disney's acclaimed Mexican superhero series "El Tigre."

Ubach has also been seen on the big screen in "Blue Moon" in which she starred with film veterans Rita Moreno and Ben Gazarra, and as the title role in "Denise Calls Up," which won a special mention at the 1995 Cannes Film Festival. She played the ringleader in a women's juvenile prison alongside Reese Witherspoon in Matthew Bright's darkly comic debut film "Freeway," a temp looking for something better in "Clockwatchers," alongside Lisa Kudrow and Parker Posey, and the only female lead alongside David Arquette and Lukas Haas in Scott Silver's "Johns," all of which played at Sundance. She co-starred with Vince Vaughn in "Just Your Luck," and appeared opposite Jeremy Piven and Edie Falco in "Layin' Low." In "Pink as the Day She Was Born." Ubach starred as a young rock and roll singer who works in a domination parlor to support herself. Other film roles include "Sister Act Ii," "Airborne," Danny Devito's daughter in "Rennaisance Man," and Marsha's best lesbian girlfriend in Betty Thomas's "Brady Bunch Movie."

Ubach has also done extensive television and theater work. On television she created the role of Josie on the Cable Ace Award winning educational children's science series "Beakman's World." Some of her many guest-starring roles include a Hollywood producer under investigation in "The Closer," a murderous Walmart employee in "Monk," a ballistics expert on "CSI: NY," a petulant intern on "West Wing," a homeless teen on "ER," a reformed crack addict on "Touched by an Angel ," and an ambitious publicist on Aaron Sorkin's "Sports Night." More recently, she has played recurring roles on TNT's "Men of a Certain Age" and HBO's "Hung." She has also starred in several television movies including A&E's "Karroll's Christmas" starring opposite Tom Everett Scott, and VH1's "30 Days Until I'm Famous" as a Britney Spears wannabe.

Her improv/comedy work as been seen on shows such as "The David Spade Show" and "The Adam Carolla Show." On the New York stage, Alanna, who was described by Village Voice as "a marvelously affecting and unaffected young actress," received critical acclaim for her performance in "Kindertransport" at the Manhattan Theatre Club and "Club Soda" at the WPA Theater. She has also starred in the Chicago production of Eve Ensler's "The Vagina Monologues" and performed a one-woman show, "Patriotic Bitch," in both LA and New York.
