Althea Harper from "Project Runway" is one of the fashion designers competing on season 6 of the Lifetime reality series. Althea from "Project Runway 6" currently lives in Brooklyn, New York, but is originally from Dayton, Ohio. She is 24 years old.
Althea Harper is a recent graduate from University of Cincinnati (College of Design Art Architecture and Planning) and Central St. Martins in London. While in school, she did design internships for Anna Sui, Zac Posen, Victoria's Secret, Alexander McQueen and Vivienne Westwood. Her favorite designers are Rodarte and Vivenne Westwood. When she was 10 or 11 years old, she loved drawing the clothes of ice skaters and actresses at the Oscars. The first garment she ever made was a pair of pajama pants for her sister in the seventh grade. They fell apart after one washing!
When she's designing, she like listening to Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, MIA, The Killers, the Kooks and Mariah Carey. She considers a black dress that fits, which can always be the perfect "backup" dress for any occasion, to be an absolute fashion must. She says her design influences are always changing, but that past ones have been Brigitte Bardot, architecture and '30s glamour. According to her, Posh always keeps it glamorous and isn't afraid to try new things. She would love to design for Angelina Jolie, because she gets photographed the most! She would also love Eva Mendes and Penelope Cruz.
