Amirah Vann stars in "Underground" on WGN America.

Amirah Vann is an up-and-coming actress who has appeared in episodes of Amazon's "Mozart of the Jungle," NBC's "Believe" and HBO's "Girls."

On the big screen, Vann was seen in "Once More with Feeling," alongside Chazz Palminteri, Drea de Matteo and Linda Fiorentino, Rob Reiner's "And So It Goes," starring Michael Douglas and Diane Keaton, "Tracers," starring Taylor Lautner, and more recently the independent film "Don't Worry Baby."

Onstage, Vann has performed in productions of "Trouble In Mind" at Two River Theater, "Vanya & Sonia & Masha & Spike" at City Theater, "The Mountaintop" with Philadelphia Theatre Co., "Welcome to Arroyo's" and "Kingdom" at the Old Globe, "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and "Pericles" at Villa La Pietra in Italy, "Instinct" at Lion Theater, "Wax Wings" at Wild Project, "Blueprint" at Kirk Theater, "Laughing Pictures" at Flea Theater, and "The Making of Eugenie Doe" at Ohio Theater. She won The Princess Grace Foundation/Grace Le Vine Theatre Award, The National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts/ARTS Musical Theater Award, and the UJAMAA Black Theatre Award.
Vann earned her MFA at New York University Tisch School of the Arts and her BA from Fordham University at Lincoln Center.
