Amy Carlson stars in "Blue Bloods" on CBS in the recurring role of Linda Reagan. She also stars in the feature film "Green Lantern," opposite Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, as Jessica Jordan, and HBO's TV movie "Too Big to Fail," opposite William Hurt, as CFO Erin Callan.

Amy Carlson previously starred in NBC's "Law & Order: Trial by Jury," as A.D.A. Kelly Gaffney, and NBC's "Third Watch" as Alex Taylor. Carlson has also made recent guest appearances in "Fringe," "Criminal Minds," "NCIS," "Law & Order" and "ER."

Amy Carlson was raised in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. When she was 13 years old, she and her family moved to Amman, Jordan, for a year, where her parents were hired to teach at the American Community School.

Carlson attended Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois, where she graduated cum laude with a BFA in East Asian History and a concentration in Theater. Carlson participated in the Knox Theater Department's Repertory Theater Term, during which the students take on all aspects of a professional repertory theater company.

In addition to the year she spent in Jordan, Carlson has also traveled in Central Africa doing relief work and has been to every U.S. state except Alaska. She is looking forward to one day traveling extensively in the Far East and Africa. One of Carlson's goals is to motorcycle across Vietnam.

Carlson got bit by the acting bug while in school, and she appeared on stage in such productions as "Fifth of July," "Noises Off," "A Lie of the Mind" and "School for Scandal."

Amy was in a band called Porridge in New York City and an all-girls punk band in Chicago named MSG. She also enjoys softball, horseback riding, running, snow and water skiing, whitewater rafting and inline skating.

Carlson currently has three cats. She once had two little pet pgis, Arnold and Arlene, that were rescued runts from her Uncle Donovan's farm. Carlson has two tattoos on her ankle that are Chinese symbols which stand for "peace of mind" and "love and happiness."

She currently resides in the East Village in New York City.
