"Angie Tribeca" is character-driven police comedy that airs on TBS.

Rashida Jones ("The Office," "Parks and Recreation") stars in the satirical look at police procedurals, along with Jere Burns ("Justified," "Dear John"), Deon Cole ("Conan," Funny Business) and Andree Vermeulen ("Laid Off," "NTSF:SD:SUV").

The single-camera comedy focuses on an eccentric but brilliant group of LAPD detectives who investigate crime, reveal way too much personal information and refuse to rest until justice has been served ... sort of. Jones plays Angie Tribeca, a lone wolf who's capable, committed, strong and not thrilled when her boss (Burns) tells her she has to work with a partner (Macarthur).

Making guest appearances in the opening episode are Alfred Molina ("Spider-Man 2," "Chocolat"), Lisa Kudrow ("Friends," "Web Therapy"), Gary Cole ("Pineapple Express," "Office Space"), Nancy Carell ("The Office," "Bridesmaids"), Hayes Macarthur ("Life as We Know It," "Go On") and Matthew Glave ("Growing Up Fisher," "Perception").

Season 2

In the second season, Angie and the detectives of the LAPD will investigate the murder of a sushi chef, the death of the "bad boy" in a boy band who gets decapitated by a t-shirt cannon and a band of drug-dealing lifeguards. In addition, they will tackle a difficult case with the help of a romance novelist.

The second season will feature a parade of recognizable guest stars, including James Franco, Heather Graham, Mary McCormack, Noah Wyle, Maya Rudolph, Eriq La Salle, Danny Pudi, Busy Philipps, Kevin Pollak, Rhys Darby, Ed Begley Jr., Joe Jonas, Joey McIntyre and a few more special surprise guests. (Spoiler Alert: Most of them will turn out to be the perpetrators of the crimes being investigated.) In addition, Alfred Molina will continue filling the community service requirements of his probation by once again playing the recurring role of Dr. Edelweiss.

Season 3

In pursuit of an animal rights activist turned serial killer, Tribeca, Geils and Tanner travel outside of their jurisdiction to New Orleans, New York, Miami, outer space and Universal Studios Hollywood. The third season tackles issues such as dating again after divorce (Burns' Lieutenant Atkins), gambling addiction (Vermeulen's Dr. Scholls) and adjusting to life after amputation by a faulty hay baler (no one).

"Angie Tribeca" is executive-produced by Steve Carell and Nancy Carell through their Carousel Television, along with Campbell Smith ("The Daily Show with Jon Stewart") and Thom Hinkle ("I Bet You"). Steve and Nancy Carell also wrote the pilot, which was directed by Steve Carell.
