Australian actor Angus McLaren grew up on a dairy farm near Leongatha, which is to the west of Melbourne. After appearing in a number of amateur productions for the Leongatha Lyric Theatre, as well as school productions, he made the leap to professional work with a recurring role in the series "Something in the Air," when he was just 12 years old. McLaren's first series regular role came in 2004 with the children's series "Silversun" for Beyond Simpson Le Mesurier. His feature film debut followed in 2005 with the low-budget Melbourne movie "Court of Lonely Royals," directed by Rohan Michael Hoole. That same year, he worked on "Last Man Standing" for Burberry productions, and he achieved a solid footing on the commercial voiceover circuit.

In addition to his acting work, McLaren is a keen sportsman, excelling at cricket, swimming and AFL football. He is the drummer in the local band Charlie Broad, which was a semi-finalist in the teen battle-of-the-bands competition Future Rock in 2004. He is also an accomplished singer and guitarist.
