Atticus Shaffer on "The Middle"
Atticus Shaffer The Middle
Atticus Shaffer stars as Brick Heck on ABC's comedy, "The Middle."

Eleven-year-old Atticus Shaffer lives in Acton, California, with his mother, Debbie, and father, Ron, as well as a small menagerie of pets that includes two dogs and four cats (all rescues), birds, fish and a rabbit named Bun Bun.

Atticus was discovered by his manager in 2006 and soon landed a guest starring role in the series "The Class." That role led him to the role of Brick in the original ABC pilot, "The Middle." Several episodics followed, such as "My Name is Earl," "Days of Our Lives," "Carpoolers," "Out of Jimmy's Head" and "Human Giant." Perhaps best known for the bus stop scene he shared with Will Smith in "Hancock," Atticus' other roles in feature films include "The Unborn," "An American Carol," "Leaving Barstow" and "Opposite Day."

Among Atticus' many talents is his unique approach to comedy, which he has displayed in numerous commercials, most notably with AIG. He has also provided many voiceovers in feature films, including "Year One," "Subject: I Love You" and "Ice Age III."

Atticus is home schooled and excels in his education. He loves being a Boy Scout and especially enjoys participating in camping trips and earning Merit badges. An avid Yu-Gi-Oh player, he enjoys attending tournaments with his dad. He is also a huge fan of everything Star Wars and Legos.

In addition to his love for acting, Atticus has a true passion for comedy. He gives much love and credit to his mom and dad for enabling him to have the time of his life.

Hi, I am a mother of a 9 yr old boy who has Noonan's syndrome. Ben is in the fourth grade, very smart but an under-achiever. People just see him as one GOOF BALL, because of his short stature and different facial features. Tonight, it was my first time to pay attention to atticus and the character that he portrays and I was really overwhelmed by what Atticus is as a person and as a character. As a mother and teacher, I struggled in providing my son with the safest environment where he be. He has been bullied in school so many times and we have to move to a safer city (El Segundo) for his sake. I really want my son to meet Atticus so he may be inspired to still do good. Furthermore, I also want to meet with his parents and maybe from their words, both of us will be able to find new strength in sustaining the challenges on a day to day basis. Thanks and God bless!
