Austin Basis Austin Basis Austin Basis Pictures Austin Basis stars in The CW's drama "Life UneXpected" as Math, Baze's (Kristoffer Polaha) childhood friend and roommate. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Austin Basis attended Binghamton University, where he received a bachelor of arts in Theatre. Austin Basis was then accepted by the Actors Studio Drama School, where he received a masters of fine arts in Acting. After graduating, Austin Basis became a lifetime member of the Actors Studio where he had the privilege of working with the likes of Al Pacino, Faye Dunaway and Estelle Parsons, and studying under the tutelage of Ellen Burstyn, Harvey Keitel, Arthur Penn and Lee Grant. Austin Basis' television debut was in the Comedy Central film "Porn 'n' Chicken." Austin Basis's big break came in 2004 when he was cast in a guest starring role in an episode of "Law & Order: Criminal Intent." Austin Basis then landed a role in a pilot called "Spellbound," with Christine Baranski, Barry Bostwick and Dave Annable. Austin Basis's other television credits include "Curb Your Enthusiasm," "NCIS," "Life on Mars," "Supernatural" and "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip." Austin Basis's film credits include "The Other End of the Line," "My Sassy Girl," "American Zombie," "Boxboarders!" and "Dorian Blues." Austin Basis has also been featured in national commercial spots for Toys 'R' Us, Wendy's, Dr. Pepper, State Farm, Burger King and AT&T, as well as the Ad Council's "Feed the Pig" Public Service Announcement campaign in which he played the pig, Benjamin Bankes.
