Barry Bostwick stars in the Disney Channel Original Movie "Teen Beach Movie" as Big Poppa.

Barry Bostwick is perhaps best known for playing the hilarious Mayor Randall Winston for all six seasons of ABC's comedy "Spin City" from 1996 to 2002. He more recently played the recurring role of Roger Frank in the comedy "Cougar Town" opposite Courteney Cox.

Bostwick won a Golden Globe award for his performance as Lt. Lady Aster in ABC's thirty-hour presentation of "War and Remembrance." Among his countless other television credits are "Moviola," "Deceptions," "A Woman of Substance," three adaptations of Judith Krantz novels and the Danielle Steel miniseries, "Once in a Lifetime." He also starred in the ABC series "Foul Play" and "Dads" and has appeared in several musical specials for PBS. More recently, he provided the voice of Grandpa Clyde in the animated series "Phineas and Ferb" and has had guest-starring roles in "Scandal," "The New Normal," "Hot in Cleveland," "Glory Daze," "Glee," "'Til Death," "The Forgotten," "Nip/Tuck," "Ghost Whisperer," "Supernatural," "Ugly Betty," "Law & Order: SVU," "Las Vegas," "Cold Case" and "Scrubs." He

Bostwick made his professional stage debut while at San Diego's U.S.I.U. School of Performing Arts, attended NYU's Graduate School of the Arts and made his Broadway bow with the APA Phoenix Repertory Company in "Cock-a-Doodle-Dandy."

He earned his first Tony nomination for his characterization of Danny Zuko in "Grease" and his second for portraying Joey in "They Knew What They Wanted" for the Phoenix Theater. He won the coveted Tony for Best Actor in a Musical for his performance in "The Robber Bridegroom," a role he originally created at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles.

Among Bostwick's numerous film credits is the cult classic, "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," in which he portrayed the quintessential all-American, straight-laced Brad Majors. More recently, he was seen in "Hannah Montana: The Movie," starring Miley Cyrus, "Nancy Drew," starring Emma Roberts, and "Evening," alongside Claire Danes, Toni Collette and Vanessa Redgrave.

Outspoken regarding his bout with prostate cancer, Bostwick was presented with the Courage Award in recognition of his determination to reach others about the importance of early detection.

An accomplished and talented potter, his work has been sold and displayed in prominent galleries. He resides with his wife and their two children in a historic old farmhouse in upstate New York.
