Bert Keeter from "Project Runway" is one of the designers competing in Season 9 of the Lifetime reality fashion design competition series. He is a 57-year-old fashion designer who also freelances, helping a photographer translate his photos into fashion. He also helps an interior designer. He is currently living in Los Angeles, California, but is originally from Washington, D.C.

The first garment Bert Keeter ("Project Runway 9) ever made was probably a children's design at Parsons, but he doesn't

remember. He realized he had potential as a designer in his last year of high school, when his art teacher commented on his "doodles" in class and suggested he look into attending Parsons School of Design. He then attended there and the New School in New York City from 1975–1977, studying fashion design. In the past, he has worked at Holly Harp, Bill Blass, Arnold Scaasi and Halston. He was nominated by Blass to become a member of the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America), but he decided not to pursue the opportunity.

His favorite designers are the ones that show on the runway what they actually sell and don't rely on their licenses of handbags, eyewear, shoes, etc. to keep them in business. He says he is very prolific when it comes to designing and that ideas come to him easily. He though isn't crazy about working with knits or casual-type sportswear. His design influences used to be nostalgia for the past, romance and history, whereas now he'd say they're the modern international woman and her lifestyle. When he's designing, he usually likes listening to classical music on the radio.
