In addition to his starring role in TBS's "The Bill Engvall Show," he hosts one of the top-rated shows on CMT, "Country Fried Home Videos." Bill Engvall starred in the TV movie "Bait Shop" with Billy Ray Cyrus and, on the big screen, in "Delta Farce," with Larry the Cable Guy and D.J. Qualls. Bill Engvall's roster of popular comedy specials includes "Blue Collar Comedy Tour: The Movie," "Blue Collar Comedy Tour Rides Again" and "Blue Collar Comedy Tour: One For The Road." Along with his Blue Collar performances, two of Engvall's solo specials aired on Comedy Central: "15° Off Cool" and "Here's Your Sign," "Live." November 22, 2009, his new special "Aged and Confused" will air on Comedy Central. Bill Engvall is a platinum-selling recording artist whose first album, "Here's Your Sign," held the #1 position on the Billboard Comedy Chart for 15 straight weeks. It went on to peak at #5 on Billboard's Current Country Album Chart and reached the Top 50 on Billboard's Top 200 Album Chart. Bill Engvall also collaborated with musician Travis Tritt on a video, also called "Here's Your Sign." The recording of the song became the most requested single on country radio. In 1997, Bill Engvall won the Best Selling Comedy Album award at the annual NARM convention, outselling albums by Chris Rock and Adam Sandler. Engvall's second CD, "Dorkfish," was certified gold and had the honor of being ranked #1 on Billboard's Comedy Chart, surpassing Jerry Seinfeld's album. All of Bill Engvall's subsequent comedy album releases debuted at #1 on the Billboard Comedy Chart, including his last release, "15° Off Cool." Engvall released his autobiography, "Just a Guy: Notes from a Blue Collar Life," in 2007. A native of Galveston, Texas, Bill Engvall moved to Dallas and worked as a disc jockey with plans of becoming of a teacher. While in a nightclub one evening, Bill Engvall decided to try his hand at stand-up comedy and quickly found that making people laugh was his forte. Soon, Bill Engvall was co-starring in "A Pair of Jokers," with Rosie O'Donnell, followed by a hosting gig for A&E's "Evening at the Improv" and several appearances on "The Tonight Show" and the "Late Show with David Letterman." In 1992, Bill Engvall won the American Comedy Award for Best Male Stand-up Comedian. After appearing in episodes of "Designing Women," Bill Engvall went on to portray Buck Overton on the sitcom "Delta," starring Delta Burke, solidifying his status as a sought-after comic. Bill Engvall also starred in the NBC series "The Jeff Foxworthy Show," in which he played Foxworthy's best friend. Bill Engvall lives in southern California with his wife and two children.
