Billy DeCola from "NY Ink" stars in the TLC reality docu-series.

Born and raised in Saint Petersburg, Florida, Bill DeCola ("NY Ink") is a tattoo artist who apprentices under Ami James at the tattoo shop Wooster Street Social Club in New York City. DeCola says he'll be an apprentice forever because "there's so much to learn and there's always someone better out there. Being a tattoo artist is the most challenging thing I've ever done… and from what I hear it's not going to get any easier."

Before tattooing he was a bartender at some Miami Beach clubs: Groove Jet, Liquid and Shadow Lounge to name a few. After bartending he moved to Japan, which he called home for several years. He lived in Tokyo and studied Japanese at The Tokyo School of Japanese Language (Naganuma). He exported professional video equipment.

As a child DeCola loved playing sports; baseball and football were his life. His father was very supportive; he coached his little league teams and supported DeCola all the way through college where he played on the baseball team.
