Billy Ray Cyrus stars as Robby Stewart, father and "personal and professional" manager to his 14-year-old daughter who has a secret identity as a pop star, in the Disney Channel hit series "Hannah Montana."

Platinum-selling recording artist and actor Billy Ray Cyrus was a dance contestant on Season 4 of ABC's reality competition, "Dancing with the Stars." Billy Ray Cyrus partnered with Season 3's finalist, Karina Smirnoff, who returned for her second season.

On television, Billy Ray Cyrus starred in PAX series "Doc" for which he also composed the theme song. That series is now seen in over 50 countries. Billy Ray Cyrus also guest starred on the series "Degrassi: The Next Generation," "Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye," "The Love Boat: The Next Wave" and "18 Wheels of Justice," and as himself in "Diagnosis Murder" and "The Nanny." Billy Ray Cyrus's film credits include "Elvis Has Left the Building," "Mulholland Drive," "Radical Jack" and "Wish You were Dead." Most recently, Billy Ray Cyrus starred as Frank Butler in the stage production of "Annie Get Your Gun" in Toronto.

Billy Ray Cyrus is well-known for his country music career. Discovered in 1990 while opening for Reba McEntire, Billy Ray Cyrus holds the record by a debut artist for his album "Some Gave All" which was #1 on the Billboard's Hot 100 Albums chart for 17 weeks. Billy Ray Cyrus's album "Some Gave All" went multi-platinum, selling 14 million copies worldwide, while "It Won't Be the Last" is a platinum album and "Storm in the Heartland" is a gold album. Billy Ray Cyrus won Favorite New Artist - Country and Favorite Single - Country for "Achy Breaky Heart" at the American Music Awards. Billy Ray Cyrus's hit single "Achy Breaky Heart" also earned him Single of the Year by the Country Music Association and the BMI Robert J. Burton Award in 1993.

Billy Ray Cyrus's country rock album "Wanna Be Your Joe," for which he wrote or co-wrote all 12 tracks, was released in July. It includes "Country Music Has the Blues" featuring music greats George Jones and Loretta Lynn; "The Freebird Fell" written with Lynyrd Skynyrd's Artemis Pyle and Ed King; "The Man," a tribute to NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt; and the rockin' tongue-in-cheek song "I Want My Mullet Back"—which he also performed on an episode of "Hannah Montana." Also included is "Hey Daddy," a poignant song about fatherhood.

Billy Ray Cyrus also performs a duet with his daughter Miley on the "Hannah Montana" soundtrack.

A father of five, Billy Ray Cyrus resides on his 500-acre farm near Nashville when not working in Los Angeles. Billy Ray Cyrus continues to write music and perform.
