Cainan Wiebe stars in "16 Wishes" (Disney Channel Original Movie) as Mike Jensen.
Cainan Wiebe has been acting since the age of six. He has been in numerous commercials such as Toyota (directed by Peter Chelsom, "Shall We Dance"), IKEA, Post Cereal, Hampton Inn (directed by Stephen Daldry, "Billy Elliot"), Goldfish Crackers and the multiple award-nominated commercial "Got Milk? Birthday" among others. Cainan has also done voice-over work and been featured in the animated TV series "Bratz" and The Jim Henson Company's new series "Dinosaur Train." Cainan won a best actor award at the 30th Young Artist Awards in LA for the Canadian short "A Pickle."
His feature film credits include "Black Christmas," starring Michelle Trachtenberg, "The Sandlot: Heading Home," "Whisper," "Snow Buddies" and "Air Buddies." Cainan was reunited with director Bill Dear ("The Sandlot: Heading Home") on the George Lopez film, "Mr. Troop Mom." Cainan also appears in "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," "Diary of a Wimpy Kid," based on the New York best-seller of the same name, and "Sucker Punch," opposite Vanessa Hudgens.
Cainan co-stars in the TV movie " Beyond Sherwood Forrest," opposite Robin Dunne and Erica Durance. Cainan also plays performer and co-host with sister, singer/songwriter, Hailey Morgan in the new variety web series "EiKids" (Entertainment Industry Kids). "EiKids" brings the world of entertainment to kids through music, skits, how to's into the business, reviews, interviews and times gone by. It's for the stars of tomorrow.
Cainan worked on both the new TV series and web series, "Sanctuary" with Amanda Tapping, Martin Wood (director) and Damian Kindler (producer) in Vancouver. Cainan got to work with green screens and prosthetics and his role required a Russian accent. Cainan played the character Alexei, a Russian boy with a deadly abnormality. He is featured in the premiere of "Sanctuary" the TV series and the first four webisodes of the web series.
Cainan got to work on "Tin Man," the Syfy remake of "The Wizard of Oz," again working alongside veteran actors Alan Cumming ("Spy Kids"), Zooey Deschanel ("Bridge to Terabithia") and Raoul Trujillo ("Apocalypto"). Cainan was very excited to have met the remarkable Richard Dreyfuss ("Mr. Holland's Opus") on the set of "Tin Man." Mr. Dreyfuss played the wise Mystic Man. Cainan plays the human-lion character, Kalm, a viewer, known for his ability to read minds. Cainan had to endure 3-5 hours of prosthetics, prosthetic teeth, facial hair, wig, SFX make-up and customized wardrobe to be transformed into Kalm.
Cainan appeared in "The 4400" as Duncan Germaine, one of the kidnapped fraternal 4400 twins with paranormal abilities. He could move water (known as diffusion) but only with the help of his twin sister. Cainan also enjoyed playing bad boy character Toot, one of the West End bunch, in the TV series "Masters of Horror," directed by Tom Holland ("Fright Night").
Cainan is also talented in musical theatre. He has performed on the big stage at the Bell Performing Arts Centre. He danced, sang and acted his way into everyone's heart in the Musical Theatre Production of "Peter Pan." Cainan played the comical and mischievous Tootles, one of the notorious Lost Boys.
When Cainan is not busy with his acting pursuits, he plays guitar, swims competitively, takes tumbling classes as well as power skating. Cainan is a boy at heart who loves sports and the outdoors. He has a black belt in martial arts.
