Casey Thompson from "Top Chef: Charleston" is one of the chefs competing in season 14 of the Bravo reality cooking competition. She previously competed in both Season 3, "Top Chef: MIami," and Season 8, "Top Chef: All-Stars." She currently lives Napa Valley, California, and is the executive chef at Inn at Rancho Santa Fe.

"Top Chef 14: Charleston"

Texas native Casey Thompson made her professional start under celebrity chef Dean Fearing at Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek, one of Texas' most historical fine dining restaurants. From there, she opened and became the executive chef at one of Dallas' most popular Asian restaurants, Shinsei. After finishing as a finalist and earning the "Fan Favorite" title on "Top Chef" season three in Miami, Thompson settled in San Francisco and traveled the world, learning techniques from places as far as Thailand and Argentina.

Thompson became the American Ambassador for an Argentinian Malbec, a brand of Moet-Hennessey, and cooked her way through the Napa Valley learning the art of pairing farmed foods with wines. She split her time between the West Coast and Texas and opened Brownstone Restaurant in Fort Worth to critical acclaim. Shortly after, she returned to "Top Chef" to compete on season eight in New York City against an all-star cast. In the spring of 2014, she opened Aveline restaurant and The European bar in the heart of San Francisco. She currently works as the executive chef for the Inn at Rancho Santa Fe in the San Diego area and continues her private dining business in the Napa Valley.

"Top Chef 8: All-Stars"

Some say she helped Carla Hall lose the Season 5 finale, but that's old news! Casey Thompson made it all the way to her season's Aspen finale, competing against Dale Levitski and eventual winner Hung Huynh. Damn the altitude!

"Top Chef 3: Miami"

The executive chef at Shinsei Restaurant in Dallas, one of the most successful in the state, Casey Thompson specializes in cuisine that incorporates Asian and Mexican cultural influences. She is a rising star who lives by her simple, yet time-tested, cooking philosophy—serve food that people want more of. She names tartare the most romantic dish because it's raw, risky, ice cold and delicious. Her outgoing and confident manner will "serve" her well in the competition.

Culinary Education: Self-Taught
Favorite Simple Summer Recipe: Big Burgers
