ABC's "Castle" Season 4 is a mystery drama on ABC that stars Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic.

When viewers first met Richard Castle — a famous mystery novelist and divorced father raising his teenage daughter, while being kept grounded by his Broadway diva mother — he was creatively blocked. But when the NYPD questioned him in connection with a series of murders staged to imitate crime scenes from his books, Castle found inspiration in NYPD Detective Kate Beckett, a bright and aggressive homicide detective with a fascination for odd and offbeat cases stemming from the years-old unsolved murder of her own mother. Though they instantly clashed, sparks of another sort began to fly, leading both to danger and a hint of romance as Castle stepped in to help find the copycat killer. Once that initial case was solved, Castle and Beckett continued to investigate strange homicides in New York, combining Castle's writer intuition and Beckett's creative detective work.

Now, after three seasons, Castle and Beckett's relationship has grown even stronger as they've dodged bullets, captured killers and solved countless murder cases in their unorthodox partnership. But in the explosive Season 3 finale, NYPD Captain Roy Montgomery — who we learned had a connection to the unsolved murder of Beckett's mother — was shot and killed by a man tied to that crime. As the episode came to a close, Beckett, who was speaking about her Captain at his funeral, took a bullet from a sniper's rifle and was last seen on the ground with life fading out of her. Will she survive ... ?

Also with Beckett as his muse, Castle used his newfound experience in the field as fodder for his best-selling novels — "Heat Wave" (hardcover published in September 2009, spent 16 weeks on the New York Times bestsellers list and 10 weeks on the USA Today bestsellers list; paperback published in April 2010, spent 12 weeks on the New York Times bestsellers list and 11 weeks on the USA Today bestsellers list); "Naked Heat" (hardcover released in September 2010 spent 12 weeks on the New York Times bestsellers list and 8 weeks on the USA Today bestsellers list; paperback published in April 2011, spent 4 weeks each on the New York Times and USA Today bestsellers lists); and a third book, "Heat Rises," which came out in September 2011.

In addition, for the new season, a graphic novel from Marvel made its debut; Richard Castle's "Deadly Storm" came out in September, written by Brian Michael Bendis ("Avengers") and Kelly Sue DeConnick ("Captain America").

"Castle" stars Nathan Fillion as Richard Castle, Stana Katic as Detective Kate Beckett, Tamala Jones as Medical Examiner Lanie Parish, Jon Huertas as NYPD Detective Javier Esposito, Seamus Dever as NYPD Detective Kevin Ryan, Molly Quinn as Alexis Castle, with Susan Sullivan as Martha Rodgers. Joining the series for Season 4 is Penny Johnson Jerald ("24") as Captain Victoria Gates - aka "Iron Gates" and as by-the-book as they come - who instantly has an issue with Castle ... "He's not a cop, he doesn't belong."

"Castle" Season 4 is produced by ABC Studios. Andrew Marlowe is the show's creator/executive producer, along with executive producers Rob Bowman, David Amann, Laurie Zaks and Armyan Bernstein.

I am VERY Disappointed in the closer... Everything was going Great, as Usual But, you pushed the envelope too much with the "tease"... We're grown-ups here-'just too much teasing with the obvious feelings between Castle & Beckett-surely you could have come-up with something better than the ending that you did...it was a BIG Let-down. I'm disappointed that, you dropped the ball on what, could have been a very promising set-up for next season-instead, you left the viewer feeling VERY FLAT! I've been a Huge Fan of the show since, the VERY First episode & I was thrilled to see that, other people were enjoying you as much as I-'so much so that, you got picked-up for another season... I do hope that you can be creative enough to find some way, to bring these 2 characters together... I'm not a child but, I am a romantic ("64 yrs. worth"...)surely you can figure-out a way to get these two together & yet, still have the show be fresh, fun & exciting... Monica Myers p.s you know, there's such a thing as, teasing so much that, the tease becomes a turn-off...

Love this show - it's the only one I stay up late for. Not too crazy about bringing in the ex-wife at the end with them walking away for a summer together with arms around each other. There better be a fast fix on opener for Season 3.

lead to a different conclusion for this Season. I hope the "spark" is re-kindled early in Season 3, or your going to lose me.

I want to add to my email of last night which, was one of Great Disappointment-the ending was AWFUL, it left the viewer feeling Absolutely Flat!!!... Eversince the get-go, there has been Remarkable Chemistry between Castle & Beckett, why in the world would you leave the viewer Sooo Flat, as to have him walk off into the sunset with the ex-wife who, he couldn't stand prior to this???... In my opinion, you truly messed-up what, PROMISED to be "new beginnings" for Castle & Beckett-you dropped the ball. I think that it would be very refreshing & also, Unique, if there was a t.v. show that offered something positive, i.e. a great romantic comedy, with Fabulous Chemistry as,opposed to the 'same ole, 'same ole-Don't Throw Away The MAGIC between these two Dynamic characters!...

Got Castle spoilers? What did you think of the last show?
