Catherine Lemieux stars in "Helix" on Syfy as Dr. Doreen Boyle.

Canadian actress Catherine Lemieux received her training at Dawson College Professional Theatre Program and Film Acting Workshop ASM Studios. She has won two awards for stage performances at the Montreal Fringe, including the Mainline Second Stage Award for "Jesus Jello," for Sheep in Fog in 2010, and the People's Choice Award for "Leaf in the Mailbox" in 1999. In addition, she was nominated for the Mecca Award for Best Actress for "Call Me" at Infinite Theatre in 1999.

Other theatrical work in Montreal includes "Good People" at Centaur Theatre, "The Birth of Weza" at Montreal Fringe, "Sexy Dirty Bloody" at Mainline Theatre, and P4W: Unfit for Bears" at Zeitgeist Theatre, as well as "Dark Owl," "Problem Child," "Lion in the Street" and "7 Stories," all at Tableau D'Hote. In New York City, she performed in "Killing Jar Jar" at Common Basis Theatre.

On the big screen, Lemieux had a bit role as a Midwestern woman in "White House Down," starring Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx. In addition, she was seen on television in an episode of Syfy's "Being Human."
