Catherine Tate stars in "The Office" on NBC as Nellie Bertram.

On the big screen, Tate recently starred in "Monte Carlo" (2011), opposite Selena Gomez, Leighton Meester and Katie Cassidy, as Aunt Alicia, and "Gulliver's Travels" (2010), opposite Jack Black, as Queen Isabelle.

British actress Catherine Tate began with appearances in the UK series "Casualty" before specializing in comedy parts. Her most significant roles were mostly BBC oriented ensemble pieces like the cult sketch show "Big Train" and the sitcom "Wild West." She also appeared in some genuinely challenging projects, including Simon Munnery's "Attention Scum" as well as "Jam." In addition, Catherine Tate had a guest-starring role as Donna Noble in the 2006 Christmas Special of "Doctor Who," which led to joining the cast as the full-time Doctor's Companion for the hugely acclaimed fourth season. The role won Tate the Best Actress award at the U.K. TV Choice Awards and a nomination for Outstanding Dramatic Performance at the 2008 National Television Awards. Tate also had several parts in "Starter for Ten" and then played the title role in 2007's "Mrs. Ratcliffe's Revolution."

Her own comedy sketch series, "The Catherine Tate Show"—three seasons, three Christmas specials and a special Comic Relief DVD (featuring Tony Blair and Daniel Craig)—won numerous awards and displayed her talent for character "transformation." The show made her a household name in her home country.

Tate's characters have become part of the British national consciousness. Specifically: Lauren the amazingly in-your-face teenager whose catchphrase "Am I bovvered? Do I look bovvered?" is still echoing in the playgrounds of the country.

Tate also wrote, directed and co-starred in a Sky short film as part of the "Little Crackers" season.

Her theater credits include the National Theatre production of "Season's Greetings," David Eldridge's play "Under the Blue Sky" and Neil Labute's "Some Girls," alongside David Schwimmer. Tate has also portrayed Sunny Jacobs in Bob Balaban's production of "The Exonerated," and co starred in the Royal Shakespeare Company's "A Servant to Two Masters" (West End and worldwide tour).
