Charlotte Spencer stars in "The Living and the Dead" on BBC America as Charlotte Appleby.

British actress Charlotte Spencer was nominated for a BAFTA TV Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2015 for her performance in E4's murder mystery miniseries "Glue." She also had recurring roles in BBC's "Stonemouth" and "Line of Duty," as missing teenager Carly Kirk, as well as HBO's "Five Days," and has made guest appearances in "Genie in the House" and "Hotel Babylon."

On the big screen, Spencer was seen in "Bypass," Tom Hooper's "Les Misérables," starring Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe and Anne Hathaway, Tim Burton's "Dark Shadows," starring Johnny Depp and Michelle Pfeiffer, and the urban thriller "Wild Bill."

Spencer provides the voice for Angelina Mouseling in the animated franchise "Angelina Ballerina" that includes numerous videos and a TV series.

Onstage, Spencer played Jane Banks in a West End adaptation of "Mary Poppins" and performed in Andrew Lloyd Webber's 1960s-set musical "Stephen Ward."

Spencer attended the Brenda Taylor School of Performing Arts. She also later trained at Sylvia Young's Theatre School.
