The Disney Channel Original Movie, "The Cheetah Girls," is about four New York City teens—Galleria, Chanel, Aquanette and Dorinda—who early on decide they are destined for stardom. The movie is based on a bestselling series of young adult books, "The Cheetah Girls" by Deborah Gregory.

In the sequel, "The Cheetah Girls 2," the girls team up to convince Cheetah moms Dorothea and Juanita to take them to Spain for the "cultural and educational experience," and especially to compete in the New Voices of Music Festival. While in Spain, the girls' individual expectations create conflict when they find that their personal interests are leading them in different directions and maybe being a Cheetah Girl isn't the most important thing anymore.
