Chen Ruolin is a diver competing at the 2012 London Summer Olympics for China.

Chen Ruolin has been virtually unbeatable at big competitions since 2006. The Chinese diver has 15 combined gold medals from the Olympics, World Championships, Asian Games and the FINA World Cup. She has only four silver medals at those same meets in that span. Chen's most recent major-meet success came at the 2011 Worlds, where she won the 10m individual and the 10m synchro, the latter with partner Wang Hao. The pair will compete in London and Ruolin will also dive in the individual event.

Chen is knows as "Little Gao Lin" in China because of her resemblance to the nation's former diving queen, who won the springboard gold in 1988 and 1992. Chen backed up the nickname by winning both women's platform events in Beijing. It was the first women's platform gold for China since 1996 (Fu Mingxia); China earned silver in 2000 and 2004. At 4-foot-6, Chen was the shortest athlete at the Beijing Games.

Chen was the enter of an age controversy in 2007 when the official record of her birth was changed from April 26, 1994 to Dec. 12, 1992. No legal action was taken, but if she was born in 1994 she would have been too young to compete at the 2007 World Championships — where she won gold and silver.

As Chen started growing before Beijing, she had to quit eating dinner in order to keep her weight down to be able to perform at her best. Sometimes she would be forced to drink water instead of eat solid food when she was hungry. Chen had to give up her two favorite foods: ice cream and cake.
