Chris Colfer stars as Kurt on FOX's musical comedy, "Glee." Colfer, who made his television debut on the show, was recognized for his work on the series with an Emmy Award in 2011 for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, as well as a nomination the year before. He also won a Golden Globe Award for the Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television and was nominated for a SAG award in the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series category.

Colfer just wrapped production on the independent film "Struck By Lightning," which he wrote and produced. Additionally, he recently adapted a pilot for the Disney Channel called "The Little Leftover Witch." The pilot is based on a children's book of the same name by Florence Laughlin.

Chris Colfer grew up performing in community and regional theater. At age 14, he assistant-directed a theatrical benefit for Valley Children's Hospital. Colfer was very active throughout high school: he was involved in drama, was the president of the writer's club, was editor of the school literary magazine and captain of the Destination ImagiNation team, and was a speech and debate champion. He also wrote, directed and starred in a musical spoof of "Sweeney Todd," titled "Shirley Todd," at the end of his senior year.

Colfer is from Clovis, California. While pursuing a career in film and television, he worked mornings in his school cafeteria.
