Chris Pine stars as Captain James T. Kirk in J.J. Abram's movie, "Star Trek" (2009). Chris Pine has emerged as one of Hollywood's hottest young actors. Chris Pine got his big break playing the love interest of Anne Hathaway in "The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement" (2004). Chris Pine recently starred in the drama "Carriers," for director Àlex Pastor. The film focuses on four friends fleeing a viral pandemic and the chaos that ensues. Chris Pine was also seen in "Blind Dating," with Eddie Kaye Thomas and Jane Seymour. The comedy focuses on overcoming cultural and physiological boundaries in the name of love. Chris Pine was also seen in the Fox/New Regency romantic comedy "Just My Luck," opposite Lindsay Lohan, directed by Donald Petrie. The film tells the story of a very lucky socialite who swaps her fortune after a chance encounter with a down-and-out young man. On telelvision, Chris Pine has made guest appearances on "American Dream," "Six Feet Under," "ER," "The Guardian" and "CSI: Miami." Chris Pine graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a degree in English and has studied acting at the American Conservatory Theater and University of Leeds in the U.K. Chris Pine's extensive theater work includes Ronan Noone's off-Broadway play "The Atheist" and performances in productions of "Our Town," "American Buffalo," "No Exit," "Waiting for Godot" and "Orestes." Chris Pine's parents are actors Gwynne Gilford and Robert Pine. His late grandmother, Anne Gwynne, was a film actress in the '30s and '40s.
