Chris Sullivan stars in "The Knick" on Cinemas as Tom Cleary, an ambulance driver, hustler, and something of a thug. A large bearded man, Cleary and his man Pouncey carry clubs with them when picking up patients in order to fend off other drivers. He's a heavy drinker and an opportunist.

Actor, musician, and comedian Chris Sullivan graduated from Loyola Marymount University and immediately booked the national tour of the one man show "Defending the Caveman." The tour landed Sully in Chicago where

he studied at Improv Olympics and performed at the Goodman, Chicago Shakespeare, Royal George and the Court in plays such as "The Hairy Ape," "Don't Dress for Dinner," Tony Kushner's "The Illusion," and "Mystery of Irma Vep," for which he was nominated for the Jefferson Award.

On a day off from "The Illusion," Sully flew to New York City to audition for his first Broadway gig, the role of Taylor in "Lombardi." During that run, he booked the role of Amos in "Chicago." While doing that, he booked one of the leads in the new Gershwin musical, "Nice Work If You Can Get It," starring Matthew Broderick and Kelli O'Hara.

Most recently, Sully appeared in Mikael Roskum's "The Drop" with Tom Hardy and has had guest-starring roles in "The Americans," "Elementary," and "Law & Order: SVU." In addition, Sully was seen in HBO's original movie "The Normal Heart."

In his spare time, Sully writes music and plays with his band Sully and the Benevolent Folk.
