CJ Harris from "American Idol 2014" is one of the top 13 contestants in Season 13 of the FOX reality singing competition. He sang "Soulshine" by The Allman Brothers Band for his audition in Nashville, Tennessee. All three judges voted yes to send CJ to Hollywood. He says, "What makes me unique as an artist is, I think, in the small town where I'm from you don't see a lot of black guys playing music around there, especially doing country music."

CJ Harris is a guitar teacher from Jasper, Alabama. He recorded an album of original songs called "Small Town Boy." He says, "My favorite thing to do is get up on stage and play for a crowd, big or small. I like to connect to people by conveying my ideas through music and my voice. I'm blessed to say God has given me a true, intangible talent, and I want to take my talents to the highest level possible." His musical influences include Darius Rucker, Keith Urban, The Allman Brothers and Bill Withers.
