Colin Egglesfield on "Melrose Place" Colin Egglesfield on "Melrose Place" Colin Egglesfield Colin Egglesfield and Ashlee Simpson-Wentz on "Melrose Place" Colin Egglesfield Pictures Colin Egglesfield was born in Farmington Hills, Michigan. At the age of 10, Colin Egglesfield's family moved to Crete, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, where his father continued his medical practice and his mother opened up a café. Following high school, Colin Egglesfield attended Illinois Wesleyan University, then transferred to the University of Iowa a year later to pursue a degree in biology/pre-med, in hopes of following in his father's footsteps. After earning his degree, Colin Egglesfield took a break to travel. While exploring, Colin Egglesfield was discovered by famed photographer Bruce Weber, which immediately led to model work for Ralph Lauren, Versace and Calvin Klein. Shortly thereafter, Colin Egglesfield was doing photo shoots around the world and walking the runways of Milan, New York and Paris for Armani, Versace, Dolce and Calvin Klein, just to name a few. In 1997, Colin Egglesfield moved to New York City, where he furthered his modeling career and began to book national commercials and guest appearances on such TV shows as "Law & Order: SVU" and "Leap of Faith." Colin Egglesfield went to Los Angeles to further his career and immediately landed guest appearances on "Gilmore Girls," "Nip/Tuck," "Charmed," "Twelve Days of Terror" and a pilot called "Lost in Oz." Colin Egglesfield was also cast in lead and supporting roles in films such as "Must Love Dogs," "Beautiful Dreamer" and "The Good Guy." After Colin Egglesfield landed a regular role as Erica Kane's son on "All My Children," Egglesfield returned to New York. On stage, Colin Egglesfield appeared with Riant Theatre group, where he starred off-Broadway as Lt. Dan Kaffee in "A Few Good Men." When not filming, Colin Egglesfield runs his own T-shirt company, Shout Out! Clothing." Shout Out! shirts come with Velcro letters which attach to the shirt, allowing the wearer to create endless customizable messages. This is consistent with Colin Egglesfield's belief in the importance of self-expression; Shout Out! is a tool that empowers wearers to be whomever they want and share it with the world. Immediate plans for Shout Out! include the development of a not-for-profit branch of the company that will dedicate its resources to supporting educational initiatives for disadvantaged children. An avid runner who completed the Chicago, New York, and San Diego marathons, Colin Egglesfield has also raised money for such not-for-profits as Team for Kids, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and the Lance Armstrong Foundation. In addition, Colin Egglesfield has tutored high school students at The Door Youth Center in lower Manhattan and plans to continue his quest to create better educational opportunities for disadvantaged children wherever possible. Colin Egglesfield currently lives in Los Angeles and enjoys running painting, drawing and riding mountain bikes.
