Conor Dwyer is a swimmer competing at the 2012 London Summer Olympics for the USA.

Conor Dwyer earned his first Olympic berth by finishing second in the 400m freestyle and fourth in the 200m freestyle (earning him a spot in the 4x200m freestyle relay) at Olympic Trials. He was a member of the world champion 4x200 free relay in Shanghai last summer, where he had a preliminary swim. At the 2011 National Championships – which was a somewhat odd event in that it took place after the 2011 Worlds in Shanghai – he won the 200m IM and finished second in the 400m IM. Dwyer was the 2010 SEC and NCAA Swimmer of the Year while at Florida.

Dwyer's parents are Patrick and Jeanne. Patrick works in financial services, and Jeanne is a homemaker who was an All-American swimmer at Florida State. She taught Dwyer to swim as a toddler, and expressed pride after Dwyer made the Olympic team. "Conor has sacrificed so much, he missed family events and so many other things for training through all these years," she said. Dwyer graduated from Florida with a degree in Sports Management in 2011. There he trains with Gregg Troy, head coach of the U.S. team and also Ryan Lochte's coach.

Dwyer has a twin brother, Patrick, and one younger brother, Brenden, and a younger sister, Pati. Dwyer has also played hockey, baseball, football, basketball and water polo in the past. He enjoys going to Chicago Cubs games. He swims 16,000 meters per day, which encompasses two swims of two hours each, plus one and a half hours of lifting and land training.
