Countess Vaughn stars in TV One's reality docu-series "Hollywood Divas."

Discovered in 1988 on "Star Search," Countess Vaughn was named the nationally broadcast talent show's Junior Vocalist Champion and Overall Junior Champion. That led to a role on the NBC sitcom "227," starring Marla Gibbs and Jackee. But Vaughn's big break came when she was cast as Kim Parker on the UPN show "Moesha." Eventually, Countess' character was spun-off into the hit show "The Parkers."

As Kim Parker, Countess played a young woman trying to figure out life while attending college and dealing with her mother (played by Mo'Nique). At one point, "The Parkers" was the #1 TV show in African-American households in the United States.

In 1992, Countess released her self-titled debut album, featuring dance and R&B tunes. She also starred in the off-Broadway musical "Mama, I Want to Sing (Part 2)." Additionally, alongside Grammy-nominated producer Rodney Jerkins, she co-wrote and performed the theme song to "The Parkers."

More recently, Vaughn appeared on VH1's weight-loss reality series "Celebrity Fit Club" and MTV's singing competition "Celebrity Rap Superstar."
