"Covert Affairs" (USA Network) is a spy drama series in which we meet Annie Walker played by Piper Perabo ("Coyote Ugly," "Beverly Hills Chihuahua"), a young CIA trainee who is thrust into the inner sanctum of the agency when she is unexpectedly promoted to field operative. While it appears that she has been plucked from obscurity for her exceptional linguistic skills, there may be something or someone from her past that her CIA bosses are really after.

Christopher Gorham ("Ugly Betty," "Jake 2.0") plays Auggie Anderson, a CIA military intelligence agent, blinded while on assignment, and Annie's guide in this world of bureaucracy, excitement and intrigue. Peter Gallagher ("The O.C.," "American Beauty") plays Arthur Campbell, the formidable Director of Clandestine Services for the CIA. Anne Dudek ("House," "Mad Men") plays a married mother of two and is and Annie's older sister; Sendhil Ramamurthy plays Jai Wilcox; and Kari Matchett ("Invasion") plays Joan, head of the CIA's Domestic Protection Division who happens to be married to Arthur.

Season 2

In Season 2, Annie's career continues to intrude on her personal life as she strives to balance "pseudo-normal" life with her high-octane adventures as a covert operative.

Season 3

Season 3 returns after Annie's mission in Stockholm turned deadly and she returns to the one person who has always been there for her — Auggie. However, his mind is elsewhere as he sets out to follow his new girlfriend to Eritrea and leaves Annie wondering if her feelings run deeper than she thought.

Season 4

Season 4 kicks off after Annie and her longtime best friend and blind CIA tech-op, Auggie finally acknowledging their romantic feelings for one another. Things get complicated at the agency, as Annie aligns with Henry Wilcox (Gregory Itzin) in a dangerous, undercover mission that has potentially scandalous consequences for the CIA. Joining the cast this season is Hill Harper ("CSI: NY") who will play Calder Michaels, an ambitious CIA station chief based in Latin America.

Season 4.5

The hunt is on. As the people closest to Annie suffer in the aftermath of Henry Wilcox's bitter revenge plot, Annie makes her biggest sacrifice, pushing herself farther than ever in order to face off against a devious puppet master.

Season 5

Season five picks up after CIA operative Annie fakes her death, alters her identity and goes deep undercover in the streets of Hong Kong to defeat her most cunning opponent, Henry Wilcox (guest star Gregory Itzin). The new season will examine the price Annie will have to pay for this risky maneuver and the implications it will have on her relationships — both personally and professionally — as she attempts to re-emerge into the world she once knew.

From Universal Cable Productions, "Covert Affairs" is executive produced by Doug Liman (the "Bourne" trilogy, "Heist") and Dave Bartis ("The O.C.") through Dutch Oven and written and co-executive produced by Matt Corman ("Deck the Halls") and Chris Ord ("Deck the Halls"). Tim Matheson (USA's "Burn Notice" and "Psych," "Criminal Minds") directed the pilot.

janndave says:
The show is fantastic even though in the first few seconds there's a huge faux pas. Someone jumping out of a plane at 2000' has absolutely no time to do any free fall much less what Piper does. Sad to start out with such a glaring error.
