Dakota Redding is an occupational therapist and member of the army reserve. She is a tobacco chewing cowgirl who is thinking about enlisting full time in the military.
When asked how people know she's a Bama Belle, she says, "I'm a sophisticated, intelligent, beautiful young woman who believes in the All-American way of life. Day in and day out I hold myself to the highest standards of class and dignity. My smile and undeniable natural charm is known for lighting up every room that I enter. I always say what's on my mind."
What are her favorite Southern expressions? "I love saying 'Bless Your Heart' and 'Fixin' to do Something.' Especially because everyone from back home in North Dakota thinks that I talk funny and everyone from the South thinks that I talk funny. I can't win no matter what I do."
Her favorite Southern food is boiled peanuts, especially when it's Cajun style. She loves that there is never any snow to shovel in Alabama and that it never reaches 40 below.
When asked about herself, she says, "I am an easy going (sometimes crabby) North Dakota Cowgirl who loves living in the South (duh, it's warmer there). Being blessed with my momma's good looks and my dad's confidence, usually means that trouble is hot on my tail. The party is never in full swing until I arrive and always (well, almost always) worth the ramifications. I am known to not only bounce back but rise above any and all challenges I am faced with. My goal is to conquer the whole world before I am 50. I thought I was going to do it with a man, but I am done with that drama for now. My hunk will appear one day dressed as a dirty, rotten, nasty cowboy and realize my worth. The greatest man in my life is my 6 year old nephew who I love more than anyone in this world. Until the day my cowboy comes to carry me away, I am happy being daddy's little girl, momma's (almost) angel, and the most supportive big sister and auntie I can be."
She continues, "I am certified occupational therapist assistant working in a skilled nursing facility and a combat medic instructor in the United States Army Reserve. Both keep me busy since the medical field is always changing and I want to give my patients/students the best. Hopefully someday I will be working on the Justin Sports Medicine Rodeo Team. Until then I will continue my education at the University of Alabama (Roll Tide, Baby) and pray God continues to give me wisdom and strength."
