"Dallas" (2012) on TNT is an updated version of the original long-running iconic primetime soap opera by the same name that ran from 1978 to 1991.

The original "Dallas" followed the Ewing clan of Southfork, an enormously wealthy Texas family whose sibling rivalries, romantic betrayals, corruption and even murder are truly legendary. The modern story of "Dallas" focuses on the Ewing offspring — J.R. and Sue Ellen Ewing's son, John Ross, and the adopted son of Bobby and Pam Ewing, Christopher — as they clash over the future of the family dynasty and take ambition and deception to a new level.

Three iconic stars who played pivotal roles in the original version of "Dallas" have joined three next-generation talents in the cast. The new series includes original series stars Larry Hagman, Patrick Duffy and Linda Gray. Hagman gained worldwide fame for his portrayal of oil baron J.R. Ewing. Gray played J.R.'s wife, Sue Ellen Ewing, while Duffy portrayed J.R.'s younger brother Bobby. In the new "Dallas," Josh Henderson ("Desperate Housewives") plays John Ross, while Jesse Metcalfe is Christopher. Jordana Brewster ("Fast & Furious") plays Elena Ramos, who is involved in a love triangle with Christopher and John Ross. In addition, Julie Gonzalo is Rebecca Sutter, Christopher's wife, and Brenda Strong stars as Bobby's wife, Ann.

Season 2

This season, three new series regulars join the cast. Mitch Pileggi, who guest-starred in the first season, plays Harris Ryland, Ann's manipulative and cunning ex-husband. Emma Bell is Emma Brown, a sheltered beauty whose father has taught her to distrust the world around her. And Kuno Becker is Drew Ramos, Elena's troubled brother who returns to Southfork to continue drilling on his father's land.

Season 3

Following the death of his revered father, John Ross is out to prove he can be just as powerful an ally or enemy as his infamous father. Christopher, Bobby's adopted son, is newly single and determined to make a name for himself and his family in the world of natural gas. Elena Ramos, the former girlfriend of both John Ross and Christopher, is now blinded by thoughts of justice for previous wrongs. Pamela Rebecca Barnes, John Ross' wife and the daughter of Cliff Barnes (guests star Ken Kercheval), is a longtime rival of the Ewings, who is determined to have a happy ending with her husband and make a home on Southfork Ranch. The new season also includes the addition of Juan Pablo Di Pace as a regular cast member and the return of guest stars Kuno Becker, Marlene Forte and AnnaLynne McCord.

Executive producer Cynthia Cidre, who wrote the acclaimed film "The Mambo Kings" and produced the TV series "Cane," wrote the pilot for the new "Dallas." The pilot script is based on characters created by David Jacobs. The updated version of "Dallas" comes to TNT from Warner Horizon Television. Michael M. Robin ("The Closer" ) is the director and executive-producer for the pilot.
