Dani Shay from "The Glee Project" is one of the contestants in Season 2 of the Oxygen reality talent competition series vying for a recurring role in FOX's "Glee." She was previously one of the Top 48 acts in Season 6 of NBC's talent competition "America's Got Talent" in 2011.

Dani Shay is a singer-songwriter and guitarist who was born and raised in Orlando, Florida. As a child, she expressed herself mainly through writing and drawing, until, at the age of eight, she discovered her singing voice. In the fourth grade, for an elementary school talent show, she performed her first solo for a live audience, singing the national anthem a cappella. Then, throughout middle and high school, Dani became highly involved in theater, and after years of performing in musicals, dramas and improvised comedy acts, she was actually convinced that acting would be her primary creative path.

Shay attended a theater magnet program in high school and received a life-changing gift for her sixteenth birthday: her first guitar. She taught herself to play, and then started to blend elements of folk, pop, rap, soul and even comedy into her music. She also began to write original songs and has since written and independently released four albums and two singles. Dani made it on to the Top 48 of "America's Got Talent" season six in 2011 and gained a devoted following of online fans from doing so. She loves to mix up her acts with bits of comedy, rap, and audience participation. Her goal is to honestly reveal herself to the public, in hopes that her bravery will inspire others to face their fears, love themselves and live boldly.

With such an independent attitude, Dani has expressed that she would want to play an androgynous female who bravely walks away from her Mormon upbringing if she ever got the opportunity to be on "Glee." Dani originally auditioned for "The Glee Project" at the Nashville open casting call.
