Daniel Fathers Daniel Fathers Pictures Daniel Fathers stars as Brown Cesario in Disney Channel's Original Movie "Camp Rock" and its upcoming sequel, "Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam." Brown is an old time rock 'n roller and Uncle of the mega stars, the Jonas Brothers. Daniel Fathers was born and raised in London, England to actress Tessa Shaw, (notably of the "Dr. Who" series) and London's West End scenic designer, George Fathers. With an entire family immersed in the industry, Daniel Fathers and his brother started early in life as child actors. Daniel Fathers' first big opportunity came as a young boy in front of Franco Zeffereli for the title role in the 1977 classic "Jesus of Nazareth," and he was London casting's first choice for the role. Daniel Fathers learned early in life that talent was not the only deciding factor in landing a role and was not selected over a technicality of eye colour. Daniel Fathers' passion growing up was sports. Daniel Fathers received a full sports scholarship to Britain's acclaimed sports school, Kelly College. Daniel Fathers achieved international amateur status in both Rugby and Track, coming 5th in the English Schools Nationals for 400m hurdles, and was selected for England's Rugby final squad. Having spent all his time at Kelly College as their star athlete, Daniel Fathers managed to combine his athleticism with his theatre roots and started training as a dancer. Daniel Fathers received a full scholarship to train at The Ballet Rambert and Central School of Dance in London under Artistic Director Christopher Gable. After being cast in the feature film "Another Country" at the age of seventeen, Daniel Fathers realized that acting was his passion rather than dance, he returned to acting classes at London's Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts with Robert Palmer. The film was unfortunately re-scheduled and by the time it was ready for production, Daniel Fathers was already in Canada. Daniel Fathers later moved to Toronto, Canada, where a young, hungry agent immediately contracted him and was successful in assisting him in landing his first major film roles as an adult playing opposite Sir Derek Jacobi, one of Daniel's lifelong inspirations, and Natalie Cole in "The Natalie Cole Story" for NBC. Daniel Fathers began working in professional theatre and studied extensively at Toronto's Professional Actors Lab with film acting guru David Rotenberg in Masters in Film Acting. Over a number of years Daniel Fathers honed his craft as a film actor, learning the North American style of camera acting. It was only a short period before Daniel Fathers was signed on with one of Canada's top agencies, Noble Caplan Abrams, and later auditioned for the world acclaimed musical "Mamma Mia!" An actor and former dancer, but with little vocal training, Daniel Fathers studied in preparation for his role with Elaine Overholt, voice coach for Richard Gere and Catherine Zeta Jones for the Oscar winning Chicago. Daniel Fathers subsequently spent a year in the cast of Toronto's "Mamma Mia!" and played two of the leads at the historical Royal Alexandra Theatre. Daniel Fathers is an accomplished and avid equestrian, riding regularly on his own horses when back in Canada, although he currently makes his home in Hollywood. In 2007 Daniel Fathers played opposite Oscar nominee for Best Actress, Ellen Page in the critically acclaimed film, "The Tracy Fragments," which won numerous Film Festival awards around the world. Such was his performance, that director Bruce McDonald cast Daniel Fathers in his next film, "Pontypool." During the shooting of "Camp Rock," Daniel Guest starred in the up-and-coming drama "The Weight," for TMN, written and Executive Produced by George F. Walker. George loved so much what Daniel Fathers brought to the role that he wrote him in as one of the series leads for the second season. Daniel Fathers played the supporting role of Arthur Finnegan, in Lifetime's television movie, "Crazy For Christmas," opposite Howard Hessman. In the summer of 2005 Daniel Fathers was flown out to Halifax for his recurring role of Rev. Evan Gallagher opposite Rob Lowe for Lifetime's "Beach Girls" with Julia Ormand. Daniel Fathers reprised his role as gangster poker player Muff Lannigan on ESPN's TV Series "Tilt," opposite Michael Madsen ("Reservoir Dogs"), for the Writer/ Director team of Brian Koppelman and David Levien ("Rounders," "Runaway Jury"). Daniel Fathers was privileged to play opposite Sir Derek Jacobi as Professor James Murray, in "Night's Noontime" and was directed by Sidney J. Furie ("Ipcress Files") opposite Alicia Silverstone, with Peter O'Toole and Joan Plowright in "Global Heresy," his feature film debut. In NBC's Movie of the Week "Livin' For Love: The Natalie Cole Story," Daniel Fathers played Natalie Cole's Machiavellian Artistic & Repertoire Executive. Other notable MOW appearances include: "The Brady Bunch in The White House" with Shelly Long; "Haven't We Met Before?," opposite Nicolette Sheridan ("Desparate Housewives") ; "Murder in the Hamptons"; "Trump Unauthorized" for ABC; "The Murdoch Mysteries - Under the Dragon's Tail"; "Plague City: SARS in Toronto" for CTV and "The Magic Flute." Daniel Fathers shot a number of episodes as Richard Manning in the acclaimed ABC TV Series "Beautiful People." Daniel Fathers played the lead role of General Umberto Nobile, and co-narrated the award winning Best Docudrama - Bari International Film Festival (Italy), "Crash of The Airship Italia." Daniel Fathers has been a regularly cast in CBC Radio dramas. Notable television appearances include: CBC's "The Border," "Murdoch Mysteries"; "Street Time," with Rob Morrow; "Leap Years"; "Tracker"; "Exhibit 'A'"; "72 Hours"; and "The Relic Hunter." On stage in the Tony Award Winning "Mamma Mia!," Daniel Fathers was privileged to have the opportunity to play two of the Leads at The Royal Alexandra Theatre in Toronto, Bill Austin, the rugged, outback Australian writer and Harry Bright, the square English banker. Daniel Fathers played Gerry, the romantic lead in the Canadian Premiere of the smash hit comedy "Shady Business" at Theatre Cambridge. Daniel Fathers also originated the role of Bishop Henry Egerton in the world premiere of "Joyful Noise," written by American playwright, Tim Slover.
