Aronofsky studied filmmaking at Harvard University and the American Film Institute. In 2001, the AFI awarded him the Franklin J. Schaffner Alumni Medal. In 2006, the Stockholm Film Festival awarded him the Golden Horse "Visionary" award.
Aronofsky's upcoming projects include "The Wolverine," starring Hugh Jackman, and "Machine Man." His company Protozoa Pictures presently has a first look deal with Universal Studios.
