He also starred in The WB's "The Army Show." His recent guest appearances include "In the Motherhood," "True Jackson, VP," "Outsourced," "My Wife and Kids," "Judging Amy" and "NewsRadio." Higgins has also been in the movies "The Wrong Guy," which he also co-wrote, and "Snake Eyes," starring Nicolas Cage.
David Anthony Higgins is part of the sketch-comedy trio, The Higgins Boys & Gruber, in which he performs with his younger brother, Steve, and Dave Gruber Allen. The group has appeared on such television shows as "One Night Stand" and "Comic Strip Live," as well as at numerous clubs and colleges nationwide, including Catch a Rising Star in New York and The Improv and Igby's in Los Angeles.
Born in Des Moines, Iowa, Higgins began his comedy career while in high school, performing in local clubs. After one year of college, he decided to go on the road. In 1982, he and his partners formed his first group, Don't Quit Your Day Job, the precursor to his current ensemble. In the meantime, he kept his day job as an assistant grocery-store manager while performing at night with the troupe, which often numbered eight comics.
Higgins moved to Los Angeles in 1985, three years later forming The Higgins Boys & Gruber. He also landed an agent, which led to jobs on TV commercials and series.
