Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Ramsey was bitten by the acting bug while performing in a church play. He later attended Wayne State University's Fine Arts Program where he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. In his spare time, Ramsey is an avid practitioner of the martial art founded by Bruce Lee, jeet kune do. He currently lives in Los Angeles with his wife and their two dogs.
