Deborah Rush stars in "Big Lake" on Comedy Central as Linda Franklin.

Deborah Rush was born in Chatham, New Jersey. As an undergraduate at NYU, she acted in plays at La Mama and The Public Theater, where she also ushered. She continued acting there in many plays and several seasons of Shakespeare in the Park. Her off-Broadway shows included "Holeville" at BAM starring "Big Lake" director Don Scardino. More recently at The Public Theater, Rush starred in "Judas Iscariot." Her Broadway credits include

starring roles in "Noises Off," for which she was nominated for a Tony Award, "Hay Fever," "Absurd Person Singular" and the 2009 hit, "Blithe Spirit."

Rush's early film career included roles in Blake Edward's "Ten," Woody Allen's "Zelig" and "Purple Rose of Cairo." Since then, her film career has been extensive, including roles in the more recent "American Wedding," "Half Nelson," "The Good Girl" and "Julie and Julia." One of her favorites was "Advice from a Caterpillar" directed by Don Scardino. Rush is remembered from television seasons of "Spin City" and "Strangers with Candy" and episodes of "Law & Order."
