DeRon Horton stars in "Dear White People" on Netflix as Lionel Higgins.

Born in Texas and raised in Saudi Arabia, DeRon Horton is a graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), where he majored in Performing Arts and starred in the short film "Lions and Lambs." He landed his first leading role in the independent feature "Dirt," directed by Alex Ranarivelo, and has also starred in the Netflix original film "Burning Sands," directed by Gerard McMurray, which had it's world premiere at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival.

On television, Horton has appeared in episodes of FOX's "Lethal Weapon" and Syfy's "Haven."

Horton is also a talented musician.
