DeWanda Wise stars in "Shots Fired" on FOX as Shameeka Campbell.

DeWanda Wise was recently seen in the cable film "How to Tell You're a Douchebag," a romantic comedy which she executive-produced, and which screened at the Sundance Film Festival. She also recently wrote the short film "Where You Go," which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.

A graduate of New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, Wise trained at the Atlantic Theatre Company Acting School. While at NYU, she began her professional career with roles in award-winning shorts and independent features, including "Spinning into Butter" and "Precious."

Wise's theater credits include her originating the role of "Nina" in acclaimed playwright Dominique Morisseau's "Sunset Baby." Other stage credits include the West Coast premiere of David Mamet's "Race" with Center Theater Group, "Flight" at City Theatre, and Danai Gurira's first play, "In the Continuum," at Playmakers, Chapel Hill.

On television, Wise has been seen in "Firelight," "Boardwalk Empire," "The Good Wife," "The Mentalist" and the "Law & Order" franchise.

A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Wise currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband, actor/producer Alano Miller.
