"Dexter" Season 6 is back with startling suspense and unexpected twists. It's been a year since last season's shocking and heartbreaking conclusion, and mild mannered criminologist-cum-grisly serial killer Dexter Morgan has come to terms with who he is. But his existence is shattered when he crosses paths with an enemy unlike any he's faced before. A delusional religious zealot with unflinching convictions, this new adversary soon draws Dexter into a dangerous game that could well end in disaster.

Morgan spent Season 5 atoning for the death of his wife Rita. He committed to being a part of her children's lives and entered into a deep, passionate relationship with Lumen, unlike anything he'd ever had before. But Dexter's need to kill overpowers his desire for human connection. And now that one person knows the truth about him, and a few others are close, how much longer will America's favorite serial killer be able to keep his dark side a secret?

"Dexter" (Showtime TV series) is based on the novel "Darkly Dreaming Dexter" by Jeff Lindsay and stars Emmy and Golden Globe Award-nominated Michael C. Hall ("Six Feet Under") as Dexter Morgan, an incredibly likeable forensics expert for the Miami Metro Police Department who also happens to be a serial killer—but one with his own moral code in that he only kills murderers who can't otherwise be brought to justice.

The "Dexter" TV show was nominated in 2008 for five Emmy Awards including Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. The show also received a prestigious 2008 Peabody Award. It is Showtime's highest rated drama and was the network's highest rated show in 2007. Additionally, it has been the most successful Showtime DVD title to date and continues to be one of the top-selling titles for the network on iTunes.

"Dexter" (Showtime) has been honored in two consecutive years with American Film Institute Awards for Top 10 Outstanding Programs (2006, 2007) and has been nominated in various categories for awards given out by the Writers Guild, Producers Guild, Casting Society, Television Critics Association and the Primetime Emmy Awards.

For his portrayal of Dexter Morgan, Hall has been twice nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Drama Series (2006, 2007), a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series and a Television Critics Association Award for Individual Achievement in Drama. He is the recipient of a Golden Satellite Award and a Saturn Award for Best Actor in a Drama Series.

The "Dexter" cast also includes Julie Benz ("Angels," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer"), Jennifer Carpenter ("The Exorcism of Emily Rose"), Erik King ("National Treasure"), Lauren Velez ("Oz"), David Zayas ("Michael Clayton") and James Remar ("Sex and the City"). John Goldwyn, Sara Colleton and Clyde Phillips are executive producers. The series was developed for television by James Manos, Jr.
