Diego Klattenhoff stars in "Homeland" on Showtime as Mike Faber, Brody's close friend and fellow Marine.

Diego Klattenhoff was born outside of New Glasgow in Nova Scotia and moved to Toronto to pursue acting at the age of 19. He studied in theater workshops for a number of years, while bussing tables, bartending, and adapting to life in Toronto.

Klattenhoff studied with some of Canada's most respected acting coaches, including David Rotenberg, Bruce Clayton and Rae Ellen Bodie, and eventually

his dedication and persistence paid off. His first big break was in "Mean Girls," starring Lindsey Lohan and Rachel McAdams. Mark Waters directed this cult favorite.

Most recently, he was seen as series as Mike Callahan opposite Taylor Shilling in NBC's "Mercy." In 2010, he wrapped shooting a co-starring role opposite Lynn Collins, Bruce McGill and Michael Ealy in the independent, "Firebird"; a recurring role on TNT's "Falling Skies," as well a recurring role on CBS's "Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior."

Prior to that, Klattenhoff received standout reviews for his performance in Sundance 2010's U.S. Dramatic Competition entry, "The Dry Land" which also starred America Ferrera, Wilmer Valderama, Jason Ritter and Melissa Leo, produced by Heather Rae ("Frozen River") and executive produced by Sergio Aguero ("Y Tu Mama Tambien"). He also had a recurring on "Men in Trees" and was a series regular on Canada's CTV's "Whistler." Additional credits include a supporting role in the Gregor Jordan film, "The Informers," adapted by Bret Easton Ellis, the lead role in the JJ Abrams/HBO drama pilot "Anatomy of Hope" and many guest appearances including "24," "ER," "Smallville," "Psych" and "Supernatural."

Before acting, Klattenhoff's dream was to become a professional baseball player. When time permits, he still loves to play on the diamond as well as indulge in golf, football, hockey and swimming.

Klattenhoff divides his time between Toronto, Vancouver, and his new home in Los Angeles.
