Dirk Blocker stars in "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" on FOX as Detective Hitchcock.

A second-generation Hollywood actor, Dirk Blocker became a contract player at Universal Studios in 1974 — while still in high school. He soon began booking guest-starring roles on series such as "Little House on the Prairie." He landed his first regular role playing Lt. Jerry Bragg in the WWII series "Blacksheep Squadron." In the years that followed, he guest-starred on "M*A*S*H," "Newhart," "21 Jump Street," "Matlock," "The X-Files," "ER" and "Deadwood." He also was cast in a number of features, including "The Border," "Poltergeist" and "Starman."

Blocker's father, Dan, was best known for his role as Eric "Hoss" Cartwright on the 1960s television series "Bonanza."

Blocker lives in southern California with his wife.
