Doug Marcaida from "Forged in Fire" is one of the judges in the History Channel reality bladesmith competition series. He is a New York-based hand-to-hand combat specialist who has studied and mastered fighting styles and techniques around the world.

Doug Marcaida, or "Kuya Doug" as he is affectionately known, has over twenty years of Filipino Martial Arts experience. His background extends as a senior representative for the Kali de Leon methodology of training with Ama Guro Jun de Leon as his teacher. Marcaida holds the Mandala Rank in Pekiti Tirsia Kali under GT Leo Gaje Jr. and is an instructor level in San Miguel Eskrima and Babrako Batanguenio Balisong.

Marcaida is the VP and head program director for Siege, Inc. which teaches defensive tactics for law enforcement and security programs in Rochester, New York, and as Edge Weapons Specialist he has designed a military fighting knife with Ka Bar USA and is the program director for DCAPS Inc. dealing with the Edge Impact Weapons program with Military and Special Forces. He is currently involved in several U.S. Special Forces weapons combative programs.

Marcaida is part of the Kali Hall of Fame under the World Kali council and has received a presidential commendation for teaching Joint U.S. and Philippines Marines Forces during the Balikatan exercises. He leads the Brotherhood of the Blade, which is featured training the Russian Spetznas in the Philippines in the movie "The Bladed Hand," a look at the global impact of Filipino Martial Arts.
