British actor Edward Hogg was born in Doncaster and raised in Sheffield. He trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA). His role in "White Lightnin'" earned him Best Actor awards at the Monterrey and Mumbai Film Festivals and a nomination for Most Promising Newcomer at the British Independent Film Awards in 2009. His other feature film credits include "Bunny and the Bull," "Song of Songs" and "Alfie." He made his film debut in "Nicholas Nickleby" as a young Mr Bray, played as an adult by David Bradley. Hogg's UK television credits include "Silent Witness," "Doctors," "The Bermuda Triangle: Beneath the Waves," "Celeb" and "Heartbeat."
On stage, Hogg has been seen in the National Theatre productions of "Our Class" and "The Pillowman," "Rock 'n' Roll" in London's West End, "Pictures from an Exhibition," "The Last Days of Judas Iscariot," "The Dybbuk," "Woyzeck," "The Storm," "The Tempest," "Measure for Measure," "Loot," "Silver Sword" and "The Firework Makers Daughter." He made his theatrical debut in "My Father's Son" at the Sheffield Crucible.
As a teenager, Hogg was the lead singer for the band Porno King.
