In November 2003, Elisabeth Hasselbeck was selected out of hundreds of contenders to permanently fill the fifth co-host chair on ABC's "The View." Defining her own voice among co-hosts Barbara Walters, Meredith Vieira, Star Jones Reynolds and Joy Behar was a challenge Elisabeth Hasselbeck didn't take lightly. Quick to express her conservative views, Elisabeth Hasselbeck has proven herself not only as a strong young woman, but someone who won't let her voice be compromised, making her the perfect addition to the show.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck was formerly known to television audiences as a participant on the wildly popular second edition of "Survivor: The Australian Outback." While competing in Australia, Elisabeth Hasselbeck used her competitive drive and survival skills to outwit her way to the final four.

In August 2004, Elisabeth Hasselbeck spoke at the Republican National Convention, where she delivered a heartfelt speech that emphasized her continued effort in support of Breast Cancer prevention and research. In recent years Elisabeth Hasselbeck has worked with the the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Making Memories Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, The World Scholar-Athlete Games and the Knowledge Now Organization.

Since taking the coveted seat on "The View," Elisabeth Hasselbeck as been the focus of several major magazine covers and articles, including USA Weekend, People, TV Guide, Glamour, Us Weekly and Life Magazine. In addition, Elisabeth Hasselbeck has been a guest on "Late Show with David Letterman Show," "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," "The Tony Danza Show" and "Good Morning America."

Previously Elisabeth Hasselbeck exhibited her flair for fashion as host of "The Look for Less," where she helped viewers find designer styles at bargain prices. Elisabeth Hasselbeck has also hosted programs on MTV, as well as done commercial work for companies like Reebok, Johnson & Johnson and Procter & Gamble.

A 1999 Fine Arts graduate from Boston College with a focus on large scale paintings and drawings, Elisabeth Hasselbeck resides in New York City with her husband, Tim Hasselbeck, an NFL quarterback for the Washington Redskins. While at Boston College, Elisabeth Hasselbeck captained her Division-1 softball team to back-to-back Big East championships. Elisabeth Hasselbeck has been recently honored with the Boston College Distinguished Alumni Award.

Prior to her work in television, Elisabeth Hasselbeck designed shoes for PUMA, working on their street lifestyle line. Elisabeth Hasselbeck does not stray far from the world of industrial design and focuses her off-camera time on painting and developing her own accessories line. A dedicated runner, Elisabeth Hasselbeck has completed the Boston Marathon, and has paced others for both the Boston and San Diego marathons.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck grew up in Providence, Rhode Island, and is the daughter of Kenneth Filarski and Elisabeth DelPadre. Elisabeth Hasselbeck and husband Tim Hasselbeck welcomed their first child, Grace Elisabeth Hasselbeck in April 2005.
